DevOps Engineer
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer at Copious. Want to join our team?
A bit about us:
Copious is a social marketplace that puts people at the center of the experience. Featured in InStyle, Refinery29, TechCrunch and Man Repeller and loved by our hundreds of thousands of users, Copious makes it easy for people to buy and sell the things they love. The social actions our users take make the Copious experience even better (and all of their connections get the benefit of their style, too). Copious connects users to their interests — people, trends, brands, etc. — starting first in the fashion category.
And we’re looking for just the right DevOps Engineer to help us make that experience its best.
Our DevOps Engineer will:
- Help us deliver the next great e-commerce experience to change the way people buy and sell
- Ensure that our e-commerce experience maintains unparalleled availability and performance (without breaking a sweat, of course)
- Sit side-by-side with developers to ensure that from design to delivery, nothing interferes with site operation
- Provide operational insight into product as it’s designed and built
- Keep code moving through continuous integration and deployment
- Take pride in his/her work while executing on startup timelines
- Automate today’s work so he/she can tackle tomorrow’s work
- Ship: Make commitments, get them done and press the “deploy” button
So if you’re interested, you should have:
- Passion to build something remarkable
- Experience operating a large, 24/7 service
- The ability to manage clusters of Linux servers with RoR or JVM stacks on top
- Experience monitoring all aspects of a site (Nagios, etc.) to keep it not just up, but finely tuned
- Experience configuring and deploying SQL and NoSQL databases... and recovering them when they completely collapse
- The ability to optimize configurations for EC2/AWS deployments
- Experience automating server and service management with Chef, Puppet or similar
- Experience, knowledge and judgment to make smart choices as you go
- The ability to recognize approaches with maximum return on investment
- Confidence to run with your ideas and get others on board
- The desire to learn from others and teach what you know
- A good sense of humor when all the things are on fire
- “Zero Downtime” tattoo optional (kind of)
And if you think we’re a match made in employment heaven:
Send us a note with your resume (or LinkedIn URL) and a link to any public projects (GitHub, site URLs, etc.) to jobs@copious.com.
Please note that this position is based in San Francisco, California. Like that’s a deterrent at all.
We look forward to hearing from you!
